Speaker: Wayne Pavy - The Kitchen Factory
Wayne graduated as an Industrial Designer, designed and built modular furniture in his own manufacturing and retail business for 5 years. Wayne then discovered unlimited scope of Kitchen Design by doing friends kitchens on weekends in his furniture factory. He sold the business and then worked for a kitchen company for 10 years to master the process, before starting his own kitchen company 15 years ago. Wayne then joined with his current business partner (Sue Jansen) to establish The Kitchen Factory which has grown to include a second retail outlet in Malaga and employing a team of designers producing and installing around 200 specialty kitchens per year.
Wayne’s interest in kitchens extends to sourcing exotic materials from overseas that he warehouses in his own factory ready for use in customers kitchens. He feels that it is important that designers should understand completely the mechanics and materials used in their designs and this helps one push the possibilities of new concepts further on each new design.
Wayne’s kitchen design experience spans 30 years and includes kitchens designed and installed in Singapore, Brunei and Thailand.
