Liam and Dylan are cousins who are being raised by Liam’s dad and Dylan’s uncle Marlon and his wife Helena. Liam is Marlon’s son. Dylan is Marlon’s cousin….and….shock, horror….they have to SHARE a room!
But it gets worse. Their walls are PINK! And there is nowhere to keep all their games and toys. And, worst of all. They can’t have their mates over to play Xbox. 1. They don’t have any room. 2. They don’t have an Xbox. Someone call CYPS!
They were praying for an Extreme Makeover. But despite all the above, these kids seemed far too well rounded. So instead, they got, Extreme Makeover, My House My Castle Edition!
MAKEOVER – URBAN COOL KIDS ROOM
These are urban kids, into hip hop and rugby league – something tells us if we paint elephants on their walls, they are not going to be happy. So Hamish went for an urban street theme.
Cocksy decided these boys needed lots of space, so designed fold away furniture so they could fold all their furniture away and have a completely bare room to kick a ball around.
With some brand new on the market tiltaway bunks, and Cocksy’s fold away furniture as a starting point – Hamish decided the room needed a real point of difference. So he got the guys from Disruptiv to bomb the room in graffiti art – the result – as Dylan put it when he saw the room for the first time: “This is the coolest room I have seen in my whole life!”
With a wardrobe system from Wardrobe Direct to keep all their stuff, a bright red ceiling and a gorgeous red bathroom to match – we have to agree!
‘CREATING THE LOOK’
Hamish decided to go for an ‘Urban Street Theme’
· Hamish got Johnny from Disruptiv in to do some graffiti
art to the boys room to give it a real industrial street
look – cost $1500
COCKSY’S SPECIAL PROJECT
· Cocksy built foldaway furniture (couch and bed) made
from NZ Pine to create more space for the boys at a total
cost of $900

· Good quality wardrobe system (Wardrobes Direct)
· Decent heating system (Fujitsu Heatpump)
BARGAINS:
· Cocksy's innovative foldouts gave us a couch, a bed and flooring
for just $900 bucks
· Hamish chose funky Akril panels for a bit of colour in the bathroom,
a quick and much cheaper option than tiles at just $950 per sheet
· Hamish chose plastic cubes from the plastic shop at $12.99 from a
cube for the boys storage
· Cocksy built a built-in desk area
