H2Gro - Greywater for Gardens

Tight water restrictions that ban even the use of automatic watering systems have encouraged many householders to start using greywater. To meet increasing public demand, more sophisticated greywater diverter systems such as the H₂grO – Greywater for Gardens have been developed to allow the gardener to select only the best greywater for diversion to the garden. The H₂grO greywater diverter can collect shower & bath water from new slab-on-ground or high set homes. Shower and bath water are ideal for reuse as they contain the fewest contaminants. The H₂grO unit is fitted to the bathroom pipes during construction of slab-on-ground homes. (It can also be retrofitted to high set homes if there is access to bathroom and/or laundry pipes.)

The H₂grO unit makes it easy to divert greywater to either the garden or sewer. The electric model features a timer switch conveniently located in the bathroom or laundry. The electric H₂grO unit puts the homeowner in charge of when to water, as the greywater will only divert to garden if the timer switch is pressed. This has two benefits – Only the best quality greywater is used and the plants are not over watered. If the diverter is activated and harsh chemicals such as cleaners or hair products are about to be used, the switch can be pressed once more to override and send the water back to the sewer.

The H₂grO unit filters greywater through a screen and is pumped throughout the garden safely, 10cm below ground, via a unique watering system of irrigation pods that are laid under a light covering of mulch. The unique design of irrigation pods discourages root intrusion and is accessed easily if the owner wishes to relocate them. The H₂grO unit is easy to clean. The only maintenance required by the owner is to briefly hose off the screen, to wash away any build up of hair and lint to the sewer so they never have to touch the greywater or the screen.
