Melonie Bayl-Smith is the Sydney director of liquidARCHITECTURE, a dynamic architectural practice with extensive experience in the design of residential architecture. liquidARCHITECTURE’s projects have been featured across a variety of publications including: Home Beautiful, Renovate + Extend, AR, Inside magazine, SMH Domain, Look Home, Trends: Kitchens and The Daily Telegraph Home magazine.
In addition to practice, Melonie is involved with architectural education teaching Construction at UTS since 2007, Interior Design Construction and Adaptive Reuse at The Whitehouse Institute in 2004 and having tutored Design at Sydney and Newcastle Universities. Melonie was a recipient of the 2009 Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship, her topic looking at the future of construction education.
Melonie is a member of Archicentre as well as the AIA, NAWIC and AAA, and in 2008 was a member of the Awards jury for the AIA NSW Chapter State Architecture Awards.

Gavin Hepper is the Creative Director of Concepts by Gavin Hepper, an award winning design based kitchen and joinery company.
As an experienced designer with 18 years in the kitchen and joinery trade industry, Gavin brings a unique combination of skills to his projects.
Specialising in interior kitchens, outdoor kitchens, home offices and customised joinery, Gavin is passionate about incorporating style, function and individuality into his projects. Gavin is the Kitchen and Bathroom Design Institute (KBDI) Outdoor Kitchen Designer of the Year 2009 and is a NSW State Finalist in both the Small and Medium Kitchen Designer categories for the 2010 Awards. Some of his projects are featured in the current edition of Luxury Home Design magazine.
As a part of his company’s commitment to ongoing learning and remaining in touch with current and emerging trends, Gavin attended Eurocucina in Milan in April 2010 and will share his insights as part of this seminar. Gavin will present case studies from the Concepts by Gavin Hepper portfolio in discussing the following topics:
